spring fairytales

I loved fairy tales as a child and anyone who knows me well would say that I would ride a unicorn and swim with the mermaids if I could. With the arrival of spring and all the flowers and falling petals, I sometimes daydream about living in a fairy tale land. This is what inspired me to post this photograph of a "unicorn" I came across while walking in the forest in the mountains of Nicaragua. I will be leaving for Nicaragua in a little over 3 months and I hope to do more unicorn searching while I'm there. (just kidding).

Speaking of fairy tales, my wonderful friend Megan is in the process of writing a children's story about a young girl who goes to visit her grandmother and discovers some interesting tales about her grandmother's mermaid friends. I plan to draw the illustrations for the book :)
