camera snoot: painting and caking

At least once a week I've been trying to roam around the cultural center and visit some of the different classes and do a "camera snoot"(yes, that's snoot, not shoot) Last week I went to the kids painting class and this week I went to the adult cooking class.

The kids were all really excited and proud of their paintings. Notice that some of the photos show my favorite color combo: red and teal :) There are definitely some artists in the making!

Yesterday as I was walking around the center, I passed by the window of the cooking class, the smells of freshly baked cakes wafting out the door, and had to peek in. When I saw all the fun cake decorating going on, I had to check it out and decided to make it this week's camera snoot (camera snoot definition: snooting, discovering, seeing, learning, poking, prodding via the camera). Oh how I would have loved to dip my finger in that frosting and have a taste...

  1. i would fancy myself a connoisseur of frosting...i would be interested to hear your thoughts on the differences between what you are used to and how the frosting tastes in Nicaragua.

  2. here it is more like whipped cream I think. Because it's so hot and melts easily, they have to make it light so it doesn't melt.
