for spring to come

Watching and waiting
for spring to come
nestle its buds into reaching fingers
eager to touch their velvet blooms

Like the rain that falls,
I too am falling, spilling over
crooked edges, crevices unseen
reaching me, filling me

I could melt with its puddles
gushing currents, carry me away
no bending, swaying of supple branches
Still. I am still waiting for spring to come
