organic carrots and one year older

Birthday meditations

Today I'm 24. I feel no older, no different, no sillier. I think that's how aging usually is - you only realize you've changed after a good while, and you've changed enough to notice. One day I'll be saying, "hey, i don't remember having those wrinkles, they must have appeared overnight", but in reality they were there forming themselves all along, with every smile and squint of the eyes, with every ray of golden sun shining its wrinkle beams onto my cheeks.

Since my first blog entry talked about beginning in March, the month of my birth, the second one is being written appropriately on the day of my birth. This means the next one will be written the hour of my birth, and the next the minute, and the next the second, and the next.........

Today also marks the beginning of a year long photography project. A year of documenting one unique moment each day in a photograph. I got the idea from my friend Andrea, a.k.a Drea, who was inspired by someone else who began it as a new year's resolution. We'll see what becomes of the project, and how long I can keep it up.

There are dried organic carrots in a bowl sitting on my desk. I think it's time to throw them away. Chao!

  1. aging is a lot like going insane... you can never see it in yourself, but rather see and experience it through others. this is just my thought right now.
I think day pictures are the coolest idea ever! when will you start posting yours?
